Do I need an onward ticket to enter Canada?

You'll usually be asked to provide documents such as:

1. a passport
2. proof of funds to:
3. cover your expenses when you arrive
4. cover your expenses while you find work (if you don't already have a job offer)
5. pay for your return ticket
6. proof of medical insurance for the duration of your stay
7. a copy of your pre-arranged contract of employment (job offer) or internship (if you are applying for an employer-specific work permit)

You may also be asked for:

1. a birth certificate
2. a criminal record check or police certificate
3. a medical exam
4. photos
5. If you're going to a country where English or French is not an official language, you may have to provide translations of your documents.
